Why a flat sheet instead of just a duvet cover

• It keeps the duvet clean. Skin contact happens against the flat sheet, so the duvet cover is washed monthly instead of weekly.

These sheets are printed in paired colourways — a ground colour and an accent — rather than a single flat shade, which is what makes them easy to build a bed around. The reliable method is to let the ground colour do the work across the largest surface, repeat the accent in the pillow covers, and keep everything else in the room neutral. A bed reads as considered when two colours repeat, and as busy when four do.

Care

Wash a new sheet before first use to soften the weave and set the print. Machine-wash cool with like colours, avoid bleach on printed cotton, and tumble-dry low or line-dry in shade — direct Gulf sun will fade a printed sheet faster than washing will. Take it out slightly damp and it will need almost no ironing.

Measure your mattress width, length and depth before ordering, and check those figures against the dimensions listed on the product page. A flat sheet should overhang enough to tuck in on both sides, so allow at least 30cm more than the mattress width on each side.
