Why cotton, specifically, here

In a climate where rooms are air conditioned for most of the year and humidity outdoors is high, cotton does the two things synthetics do not: it moves moisture away from the skin, and it washes and dries fast enough to keep a spare set in rotation. Polyester blends hold heat and hold odour.
